Ferrolmarinha was established in 1988, with a view to diversify the market of Ferrol, which at the time already had extensive experience in the machinery sector, tools and consumer equipment.

The mold industry was booming in Marinha Grande. Ferrolmarinha came to address this market niche, marketing tools, industrial supplies and other products for the mold industry.

It specialized in cutting tools for chip startup, in partnership with the IMC/ ISCAR, a world leader in the sector. Ferrolmarinha is their distributor in Centre Region of Portugal.

In 2003, Ferrolmarinha entered the business of steel, acquiring equipment and facilities. That same year, obtained the quality certification by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance in the standard ISO 9001: 2001.

Soon the business developed, as well as business relations, resulting in the exclusive distribution of the Lucchini RS steel in Portugal.

Market requests demanded more enforcement capacity, more space and greater cutting capacity equipment was needed.

In 2007, Ferrolmarinha acquired new facilities with a covered area of 5,000 m2, band saws machines to cut up to 1,600 mm x 2,000 mm x 6,000 mm and lifting equipment up to 40 tons.

The appointment by SSAB as an approved Toolox distributor comes in March 2021. In this way adding a new steel whose characteristics can serve various industries.

Aiming at continuous improvement a new vertical cutting saw was acquired with a capacity of 1,200 mm x 1,500 mm x 6,250 mm.

Ferrolmarinha now has a European level steel department, with equipment, steel and services of high quality.
